If the starfish is the star of the sea the sand dollar is the flower of the sea. These critters have lovely flowers painted right onto them and for being mostly white--they sure do have a lot of color. What if sand dollars bundled together for a picture-perfect bouquet?
That is a really cool observation!! Brilliant, I tell you!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that when you break sand dollars open, there's little "birds" inside? Eric didn't, so I thought I'd share just in case. It's neato.
YOU ROCK!
Thanks Ariel!
DeleteLovely Palette, Rachel. I like the way the sand dollars snuggle around the snail at the bottom. One of these days I want to see all these little paintings in person!
ReplyDeleteThanks Layne! And thank you for coming to my show last weekend. I'm so glad you were able to see the paintings in person. :) Ironically, I think this little one was sold just moments before you got there however. Thank you for the nice comments.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, rachel. Can you please share with me what type of paint and ink you used to create these mini masterpieces?

Marcie -- Thank you for your nice comment. Sorry, I just saw this comment. I made this little painting with watercolor and Winsor & Newton ink. In several of the other paintings acrylic is used or a combination of acrylic and watercolor. I like to combine my mediums.
